The Drug Store Story

I was in line at the neighborhood drugstore to check out. A man was in front of the line. H was marked for God. I saw it. A friend came in and interrupted my thoughts with chatter. I became anxious because he was completing his insulin purchase and was leaving and she would not stop talking. I told my friend I had to go NOW and ran out after him. He was gone. I had missed God by being polite. I- had- missed- God. I repented for missing whatever he had for me to do or say in this situation. Still not sure what it was.  I prayed for him for 2 weeks.

Two weeks after I saw him, EP, a nice hair bun lady, was having a prayer meeting in a rented room in the back end of an industrial park miles away. It took me awhile to find it. She preached against smoking and drinking. Oh, Lord. And then the drug store man stumbled in, drunk. He said he was lost. She told him to sit down, she could help, and finished her message.

At the end of her message, she called up the lost to be born again. He went up and got saved.

As I was leaving, she said, “Wasn’t that wonderful how he just showed up”? I said, “No. I’ve been praying for him for two weeks since I saw him at the drug store buying insulin. She looked shocked and told me to tell him. So, I told him that I saw him buying insulin at the neighborhood drug store two weeks ago and have been praying for him since then. He thanked me and cried.
