Seat Belt Buzzer Story

I was driving to school one morning on the freeway with my seat belt buzzer making its annoying noise. This had been going on for three days nonstop. I was broke. Driving on fumes for two days broke. I asked the Lord for help. As I passed by three Quonset huts on the service road next to the freeway the Lord said, “Go there”.

After I finished school I went back to the place He had showed me. The door was open at the middle building. No sign. No mechanic’s tools. No car racks. Empty. A man came out of what looked like an office and asked what I wanted. He looked like Teddy Swims in biker clothes. “Do you work on cars”? He look perplexed, but said “Well, I can, what’s going on”?  “This seat belt buzzer won’t stop buzzing no matter what I do”.

He worked on the car for 45 minutes and said it was taken care of. “What do I owe you?” “Ah, (another odd look) $3”?  I handed him my credit card. “You don’t have $3?” “No”. “Oh. Just go and bring it when you can”.

I paid him when I got my next paycheck. The Lord told me to pray for him. I prayed for him daily for about a year. I wonder where he’s preaching now.
