He turned his desert wanderers into warriors.
Stand. Then withstand. Hit your target with the Blood, the Name and the Word. Don’t back down. Period. We are High(er) Power rifles. Know this, the enemy of your soul does not want you interfering with his plans. If it comes to steal, kill or destroy, it’s not from the Lord.
The intercessor stands before God and pleads for the one for whom he is praying. He is there on behalf of the one who is in trouble. He also stops the enemy in his tracks on behalf of that one for whom he prays. The “one” may be a person, ministry, city, nation, business… the Lord initiates this. Your job is to be His voice to accomplish the objective of God. You are a priest of God. A keeper of the vineyard. Jesus is the Great Intercessor; you assist as directed.
Luke 13 gives us a picture of the intercessor:
The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree
He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7 Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ 8 But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. 9And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”
From My Utmost for His Highest-“Life without war is impossible in the natural or supernatural realm”… “We should not be spineless and automatically say, 'Yes, it is the Lord's will'.
We don’t wrestle with God, but we wrestle before God with things. Beware of lazily giving up… put up a glorious fight”. And, “The world doesn’t need a little bit of love, it needs major surgery. Cut to the root, otherwise there will be no healing”. We don’t pet devils. We command them to go, in the Name of Jesus. Bind the strongman causing deception and chaos in the minds of your loved ones. Claim them for the Kingdom of God in the Name of Jesus. Use your God given authority over the enemy (not people). Plead the blood of Jesus over them and yourself. Warriors fight. They engage in battles. They come out with battle scars.
Do know, as Grace Roos wrote, “The Lord will not permit someone else to bear a burden He intends we should shoulder ourselves”. Be Spirit led in intercession, not needs or wants driven. Don’t be too quick to take on everyone’s prayer shopping list. Teach them how to pray for themselves so they can develop their own faith. Derek Prince said, “God is not Father Christmas patting us on the head. Jesus has eyes like a flame of fire”. You can only have (spiritual) fellowship with those who have a love of the truth.
Gideon’s Army was culled and pruned from 32,000 down to 300. He ended up with 300 warriors out of the 32,000 in the army that he started with. Be one of the 300. The remnant that carries the glory.
Psalm 18:34
He teaches my hands to make war,
So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.

The Message
The One Who Represents Mortals Before God
“O Earth, don’t cover up the wrong done to me!
Don’t muffle my cry!
There must be Someone in heaven who knows the truth about me,
in highest heaven, some Attorney who can clear my name—
My Champion, my Friend,
while I’m weeping my eyes out before God.
I appeal to the One who represents mortals before God
as a neighbor stands up for a neighbor.
“Only a few years are left
before I set out on the road of no return.”

But if anyone draws back,
My soul has no pleasure in him.”

for a crown of glory and a diadem of beauty to the remnant of His people,
