Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Time as we understand is coming to its end. We are getting our final touches before eternity. Am I ready? Have I done my job, Lord? Is there anything of value that I did in this life? Such small gifts I’ve given you, Lord. A prayer for someone in the ladies’ room, or for a crazy driver passing me, or a word of encouragement to a tired mom- so few of these. Not enough. Time wasted. Forgive me. Give me places to pour out this wine and be broken bread for You while I remain here.
You are the eternal God. The Holy One. Might and dominion belong to You, O God. You chose me. You seated me with You. I am Yours. Do as You please with me. Break off the shackles and barnacles of self, of struggle, of control. The punch in my voice and thoughts. Melt me with Your Holy Fire. Set me ablaze in You. Deliver me from religious thinking and works. Teach me to rest in You.
