Bumper Sticker Faith

My grandson and his new wife were living with his dad. His new wife said, “Grandma, when you talk about Jesus, I feel it”. I was teaching her a little bit about how faith works. She was refining her English and reading The Message Bible that I had given her.

My grandson had a bumper sticker on his car that offended my son and I think the sparks were flying between them as “free speech” verses “this is my house”.  New Wife said, “Grandma, if I side with Father, it will upset husband. I cannot side with husband, because he is wrong and Father is older. We must respect Father. And, the car is parked on Father’s driveway”.

She came to me, wise old grandma, for counsel. O, Lord, what do I say? The Holy Spirit said, “Mustard seed faith”. I said, “RD, did you read in your Bible about how you could speak to the mountain and it would have to move if you had faith as small as a mustard seed”? “Yes, Grandma”. “Well we do not pray against people, but we can pray about things. We can command that bumper sticker to go in the Name of Jesus”. And we did and that was that.

Two weeks later my grandson decided to trade in that car for a truck. The bumper sticker was gone.
